I have been photographing Cricket and her family for years. I adore her daughters and look forward to our portrait sessions each year. We talk about locations, and what they’re looking for and then the magic unfolds. We decided on Hereford Inlet, one of my absolute favorite locations in Wildwood! They were so excited and so was I. Cricket put together the most beautiful color combination for their outfits. And of course they were going to get into the ocean with them because the memories and the fun make the session!
This year, Char was in charge of picking the session. She really wanted flowers so Longwood Gardens was very high up on the list. However, when I mentioned that the Hereford Inlet lighthouse is actually a garden and it’s stunning, we decided to go there! They were NOT disappointed, and I am pretty sure they found a new chill spot for next summer. Hereford Inlet is such a sweet little surprise. It’s never busy, the gardens are well maintained, there are benches and walkways, and a beautiful view of the ocean. What’s not to love?
The best part of the day was that the sunset set the sky on fire! It was as if the sun just knew we were coming and wanted to make sure we had the very best sky! Can you imagine, it rained earlier in the day? I always tell my clients to trust me when it comes to rain. I watch the radar, and make sure to make a very educated decision on if we postpone the session or not. I told Cricket, while yes it is currently raining that it looks to be clearing up and we should try for it! She gave her full trust to me, and wow, we really did luck out because just LOOK at that sky!
I can NOT wait until next year, and look forward to planning something special for their next session!

Jennifer and Patrick chose to tie the knot and have a Beautiful Beach Wedding at The Grand Hotel in Cape May, New Jersey. The Grand Hotel has is an absolutely gorgeous venue to celebrate your special day. Their ceremony was on the beach, and their reception was full of life as everyone danced the night away. Jenn and Patrick could not have asked for a better day to have their wedding. The weather was perfect. The sun was shining and the evening sky was a beautiful ombre.
When we think about a September beach wedding, we think about warm days and cool nights. The weather has been acting kind of funny lately. Jennifer and Patrick got to experience a truly gorgeous summer wedding in September.
I highly recommend having a Beautiful Beach Wedding at The Grand Hotel in Cape May. It’s right across the street from the beach which makes the ceremony and the portraits so easy and convenient. Cape May is also a great place to have your honeymoon and a wonderful location for out of town guests to stay the weekend for a mini vacay!

Gillian’s Wonderland Pier – My favorite backdrop for an Extended Family Beach Session in Ocean City, NJ! Whether you are a local and you simply love this spot or you are vacationing and want to be sure to see all of the amazing locations that Ocean City, NJ has to offer – this is a spot to truly add to your list! Not only is it a wonderful amusement park right on the boardwalk, but it’s a very scenic spot for beautiful portraits and the boardwalk is usually pretty empty past Wonderland because it’s just boardwalk. Also, if you are wanting to make an evening of your portrait session, you can head over to Wonderland Pier when you’re done and it’s fun for the whole family! Wonderland Pier is family owned and operated and if you follow me, you KNOW I love supporting local small businesses (such as myself!).
Ocean City is such a beautiful town and it was the perfect spot for this fun extended family session! I love that they were so full of energy and ready to JUMP on the beach (yes, they really did jump!) Not only that but can you spot the engaged couple? I was so happy to be a part of this wonderful family memory for them and I can’t wait for more fun sessions like this!

Its fall! The leaves are changing colors and your children are getting bigger. You want to document this season to remember how cute they look in those brown corduroy pants that stinking adorable pumpkin sweater! Because next year, they probably won’t allow you to dress them, so savor this moment. So the question is, do you book a mini session or a full session?
You need to first take a look at your family, and see what would work best for them. If your children like props, and love a good theme, but get bored easily – then perhaps a mini session is your best bet! Mini sessions are usually themed, and can last anywhere from 10-15 minutes.
A full session would allow your family up to 1 full hour to walk around a location of your choice. Your family will be able to play, laugh, have fun and make a really great memory out of this. Your photographer (me!) would walk with you, capture fun candids of your family enjoying each other, and pose you when we get to the really amazing spots. Some people think that the 1 hour is too long for a child, but, when you really think about it, we aren’t photographing for that entire hour, your children are running, laughing and having a great time!
Both sessions will allow you to obtain beautiful images of your family, that’s no doubt! It really depends on you and your family and what you are looking for. With all of that said, let’s jump into some photo examples of a fall mini session and a full session below, and don’t forget to check out our list of mini sessions for the 2020-2021 year here, and to book your full session click here!
I love Cape May. If you haven’t visited, you should. I know I’ve said it before, but Cape May is a magical place. So why not plan a Cape May Beach Proposal in one of the most beautiful locations in South Jersey? I had the pleasure of meeting two amazing people, Conor and Leah this September when he planned to propose to her on the beach. He even had his parents meet them there with their adorable dog, who was dressed up in a tuxedo!
It was a beautiful day, and could not have had a better outcome! She said YES! So now comes the fun part, wedding planning! Whether they decide to elope, have a small wedding, or go all out, I just know it will be absolutely perfect!
May your lives be long, happy and healthy today and all of the tomorrows in your years to come as husband and wife! Until then, HAPPY WEDDING PLANNING! CHEERS!
