I love sitting my kids in front of a cute set up and letting them just be themselves. It’s so important to capture their real personalities so when I look back, I can remember who they were that year. Were they happy or sad? Were they thoughtful and kind? A portrait can tell so much more than just a beautiful face. (And yes, of course ALL of our babies are beautiful) but I want to remember them for their sillies and the smiles and I love allowing them to have direction of their own. Want to grab that pillow? If you read my blog, you know I was SO excited to photograph my cousin’s maternity session. Well, her sweet baby girl made her appearance shortly after and is absolutely stunning! She looks just like a baby doll! I was so happy she chose me to photograph her little one when there are so many other amazing photographers in NJ. Being a Newborn Photographer near Atlantic County NJ had made my life so much more amazing, because I get to meet happy little babies and take beautiful images of them. Of course I love when they are awake and bright eye’d, it’s so much easier when they are fast asleep in dreamland. Miss Emma was awake for most of the session, but she fell fast asleep toward the end, and I was able to capture beautiful images of her while she was sound asleep. The beautiful headbands you see I made myself, which I am so proud of, except for the jeweled on at the end, that was mine and I thought she needed some princess bling. Emma’s nursery is purples, so I thought this beautiful mauve would be a great addition to her walls. Not too bright, but perfectly neutral to showcase all of her gorgeous features.

Jersey Shore Beach Portraits are the very best activity to invest in while on vacation! I say activity because it’s so much more than just a photo session. Having fun with your family and documenting every moment is so special. You are making fabulous memories and will always remember this wonderful time with your family. I grew up a the beach, and it is my favorite place to be. Living in South Jersey has always been the best. I’ve been lucky enough to see the beach in all of the seasons, eaten ice cream and pizza after beach visits and walked on the boardwalk with cotton candy, Johnsons popcorn! I’ve had Polish Water Ice on warm summer nights, and I’ve sat on the beach talking for hours at night listening to the waves crash on the beach. To say I am lucky is an understatement.

As a professional photographer I am able to share my love of the beach, and of family with my amazing clients who come down here for amazing Jersey Shore Beach Portraits! My favorite place to photograph is in Ventnor, however, all of our beaches are beautiful! My favorite time is one hour before the sun starts to set. The beaches are mostly people free, and the sun is setting and giving us that beautiful golden hour every photographer craves! The water is the warmest in July and August, and after each session I always encourage some water fun! What’s a trip to the beach without that?

David contacted me earlier in the week to chat about documenting his Congress Hall Marriage Proposal to his girlfriend, Amy. (Spoiler alert, she’s a fiance now!) David had a few really amazing ideas on how he would propose. At first it was going to be on the beach by the lighthouse, but the wind was a bit much. He decided to propose on the lawn at their hotel, Congress Hall. Which by the way, is one of the most amazing Hotel’s in Cape May! (Good choice, David!) He planned out their entire proposal, down to the champagne, ice bucket and flutes (even the chairs that faced the beach for a gorgeous sunset!) I heard it was a very nice bottle of champagne, but you should know that David is one of the world’s leading wine writers and just recently wrote a book titled, “But First, Champagne: A Modern Guide to the World’s Favorite Wine”. (Seriously, what a lucky lady to have a fiance that knows all about champagne and wine!)

As I waited for them to arrive, getting text updates from David, I did my best to hide in the bushes by the parking lot. Hotel guests were staring at me, as I am sure I looked… well… pretty shady standing in a parking lot, hiding behind bushes with a hoodie up and holding a giant piece of black metal (yep, it’s my “stalker lens” as I like to call it. Perfect for documenting proposals from far away and not being noticed!) (Although Amy told me later on, that she saw someone in the bushes with a camera… I think she knew all along this would be the day for a marriage proposal!)

Congress Hall was phenomenal, I met with Casika who unfortunately couldn’t wait to watch the proposal, but she was so excited that this was happening at their hotel! If you are even THINKING about it, stop thinking and do it, have a Congress Hall Marriage Proposal! They were so fantastic and helpful! Ask for Casika!

So, When it came time to pop the question, it was magical. David and Amy hugged and kissed, and all the love was there! I was secretly crying in the bushes because well, who wouldn’t!? When I told the hotel guests, I wasn’t some crazy person, I was documenting a proposal that would go down at approximately 6pm… of course they stayed to watch! Everyone loves a happy ending! After that, we went down to the beach to take some beautiful portraits to capture their happiness! It could not have been a better evening for a Congress Hall Marriage Proposal!

David and Amy, Congratulations on your engagement! I wish you both nothing but success in love and your future together! Thank you SO much for trusting me to capture such an intimate moment between the two of you!
